Makabongwe was founded with a mission to provide early childhood education to those who would otherwise be deprived of this critical foundation.
Today, we celebrate our growth to accommodate 180 eager learners aged 3 to 6 years, all thriving in a safe and structured environment.

Our school has been a cornerstone of the inner-city community for nearly 30 years, proudly serving the children of street traders from Warwick Triangle.
In 1995, driven by the belief that no child should be left illiterate, two pioneering women from Manning Road Methodist Church started what we now proudly call Makabongwe Pre-School. From humble beginnings on a pavement to a thriving learning center, our journey is one of faith, hope, and commitment.
In 1999, we moved into our current premises on Alice Street, thanks to collaborative efforts with the City Council. Today, we offer a dynamic and engaging environment for over 180 learners annually, fostering not just academic skills but holistic development.
